Long before it was trendy to be green, seventy five years ago, our manufacturer and his family started a business to make bags using local material.
Over these years, their mills have spun jute fibers into yarn, weaving millions of yards of fabric, sending finished rolls of jute fabrics to their factory close by, to make our bags.
Our operation is unique as the mill and the factory are integrated in the same location, with everything done in house, allowing for quality control and timely delivery.
Several international certifications earned over the years, ensure our reusable shopping bags are made well, in a safe and clean environment, by workers who are paid fair wages and without child labor. With UNICEF in our background, this mattered.
These certificates include ISO 9001, ISO 14001, SA 8000 and OHSAS.
Our manufacturer has deep production capacity with ability to scale up rapidly when needed.
Several hundred looms and stitching machines weave almost 100,000 yards a day, making 15 million shopping bags each year as well as fair trade and GOTS certified organic cotton bags and 130 million food grade packaging bags.
All part of our effort to give up plastic bags, with bags made from fibers nature gave us.
